Theme:

how can one live out a life/lifestyle they don't know, circumstances and conditions throughout ones life shape and dictate how that life will be lived

Premise:

Two siblings are forced to live out an expected life of delinquency after escaping the dangers they came across in their own home. While they work for guerrilla leader and drug lord Jose Antonio Salvatierra, they become chess pieces in the dangerous game of drugs and crime. Carolina and Giancarlo die as a result of fighting to interweave morale to the sinister world that has consumed them.

Treatment:

Two siblings in efforts to escape the dangers in their home end up finding refuge in an even more dangerous “home.” Carolina(13) and brother Giancarlo(15) grew up in the rural barrios of Medellin, Colombia. Giancarlo, had assumed the paternal role in Carolina's life from a young age. Forced to find work, at a young age to support themselves, because their their lunatic mother tried to kill Carolina in a rage of jealousy and disbelief that her love interest German had raped Carolina. Believing his claims that Carolina had come on to him and had seduced him probably with the aid of witch craft. The two inseparable sibling escaped the wrath of there crazy mother and were forced to seek help from the local gang, which worked for Jose Antonio Salvatierra a leader in the guerilla sector of Medellin and sought after drug lord.

The children were trained to use armed weapons and forced to carry out "jobs" from stealing to hit jobs. Both became favorites and very skilled at there trade. Carolina in particular became a trusted worker for Jose Antonio, and was one of few who was permitted into him home. She was a kind,innocent and had an inner child that yearns to be loved at heart. This appealing to the melancholy of the troubled Jose Antonio who's Wife and 12 year old daughter were killed by the army, who believed them to be members of the guerilla, before his eyes in a crossfire between the guerillas and the army. One day while carrying out a job Giancarlo was shot and killed by Ramiro (who was believed to be a close and trusted friend of Giancarlo Carolina's boyfriend, and Jose Antonio's son) had been double crossing Jose Antonio and had to kill Giancarlo to steal the merchandise, and make up a lie that they had been attacked by a rival gang, and their shipment had been taken. He also shot himself in the arm to assure the lie was believable. This devastating the now 19 year old Carolina. Developing in her a new obsession, find and kill her brother's murderer. On a job Carolina is sent to kill a rival dealer (Ricky)who had been trying to dethrone Jose Antonio. Carolina seduces him and plans to kill him once the opportunity arises, but while she is waiting for her moment he receives a call, where he addresses the other person as Ramiro. She assumes he is talking to her Ramiro, continues to listen in and manages out a meeting place and some sort of exchange. Now curious and confused she calls for backup to kidnap Ricky. After days of torture she finally gets Ricky to talk. Overwhelmed with the news of Ramiro double crossing his father she is chilled with a suspicion that he had set up the attack where Giancarlo was killed. She immediately tells Jose Antonio, and warns him that if she finds out Ramiro caused Giancarlo's death she wouldn't think twice about killing him. A worried and shaken Jose Antonio defends his son. In disbelief that his son was double crossing him. He convinces himself that Ricky had lied to try to save himself. Carolina almost sure that Ramiro was to blame sets out to find evidence. She in possession of Ricky's phone reassures the meeting, and goes to discover that Ramiro had indeed been plotting against his father, thus he was responsible for her brothers death.

Enraged she freaks out and disgusted swears to Giancarlo that Ramiro was going to pay for his sins. She goes to Jose Antonio presents him with evidence, and faces Ramiro pulls out a gun, and in tears tells him that he had killed the only person who truly loved her, and who she cared about and shoots him. Jose Antonio in his distress goes to Carolina embraces her and follows with a shot in the back. Also in tears her “I'm sorry sweetheart, but he was still my son”

Project FLOWING

Theme: curiosity can bring about disaster

Premise: A young man Willy living with his girlfriend Lina in an ordinary laid back suburban apartment complex is given a small briefcase to take care of by his new neighbor who apparently is leaving on vacation, and is instructed not to open it. The couple become very curious, but after discovering their neighbor was an infamous cuban assassin Francisco Huerta, a terrified Willy forbids Lina to even touch the briefcase. Overcome by curiosity Lina opens the briefcase and is bombarded with a number of creatures that threaten them and the rest of humanity. She and her boyfriend must now prevent havoc by the hands of these creatures in fear of being killed by Francisco, or worse fear of the creatures that can cause much more harm than Francisco. Fantasy, and elements of the surreal within the every day mundane.A series of happenings arise after opening the briefcase.

Treatment:

We see an ordinary couple driving home from work (sales representatives) rambling about their day. They turn into their apartment complex and notice a moving truck. As they walk to their apartment they notice they have a new neighbor, a well dressed tall man with his hair slicked back. Willy greats him and introduces Lina. Francisco very courteously introduces himself and they have a short superficial acquaintance conversation. Willy offers his help, Francisco gratefully denies, ending with Willy saying in a ridiculous cracked smile “If you ever need anything don't hesitate to ask”Some time has passed, we see the couple watching the news in their pajamas when the news of an assassin wanted for the murder of millionaire Albert Reed, a sketch of an unidentified man is showed. Lina remarks his resemblance to the neighbor, laughter then turns to worry as they look at the drawing. He is identified as the infamous Chito, charged with a number of ruthless murders, as the couple stare at each other glancing at the wall facing Francisco's apartment the doorbell rings, Willy answers and is alarmed to see Francisco at the door. “Hey Francisco!”Lina quickly turns off the TV and rushes over too Willy, “Hi”(she stutters). Francisco, greets them sarcastically complementing their attire. He nonchalantly slips a briefcase into Willy's hands “I'm going to bother you for a favor”, telling him that he is going on a trip, and that some people might be coming over while he is out and he doesn't trust them with his stuff, asking Willy if he could take care of his briefcase while he's out, telling him that there isn't too many people he could trust, to no open the briefcase, and respect his privacy, stating that nothing grinds his gears more than double crossers. “But I know I can trust you Willy” He leaves reminding Willy to take good care of it while he's out. Leaving Willy paralyzed at the door terrified, confused, and in shock. Lina who was standing next to him the entire time begins to guess at the contents of the briefcase, asking Willy if they should call the cops. Willy terrified exclaims “What! No!”we are just gonna leave it under the sink and pretend nothing happened we are not gonna say anything after all we are not even sure he's Chito. Long silence and Lina remarks “I wonder whats in it. Open it it's not like he'll know”Willy: “Are you Crazy!?! Don't touch it, don't even look at it understand”. Some time passes. No news from Francisco, and Lina's curiosity grows immensely. Willy is called in to work to cover a workers shift, Lina alone accompanied by her ever growing curiosity gives in and opens it. A whirlwind pushes her against the wall, creatures flood her kitchen. Then disappear to there rightful location. Willy comes home to find a very jittery Lina watching TV. He approaches her asking whats wrong. He is responded by a shivered “nothing” He looks at Lena and says “what is it?” Knowing something was bothering her, at this point Lina reveals what she had done. An incredulous Willy sarcastically remarks by saying “then where did they go?”Convinced that Lena was just nervous about the briefcase belonging to “Chito”he ignored her story. That same night a toddler sized forest creature resembling both a toad and root appeared in the bedroom, croaking so thunderously that the ground began to shake. It releases a gooey secretion that burns everything around him leaving it looking dead. A terrified Willy frantically jumps around screaming in confusion. Lena recognized this is one of the creatures and tells him as they run out of the room to the kitchen. He reached for a knife and decides he must kill the creature to stop it. When he enters the room again he sees the creature has multiplied, completely freaked out he shuts the door runs to the storage and gives Lena a Hoe, “they're everywhere you have to help me!”The set off on a violent rampage screaming at the painful now magnetized croaks.

Now that he believes Lena, he sets her down and demands to know what exactly had happened, and what she saw. The second character appeared in a whirl of water, it appeared to be a mermaid. As the water cleared away her fin became legs, and she spoke, starting off sweet but infuriated by Lena's aggressive and demanding tone spewed out in a squeaky pitch foaming out what appeared to be tar. Willy was able to calm her, being the charming flirt that he was. He asked her who she was and what she was going to to do. She flirtatiously responded to Willy, that they had brought her there. And she began to trow-up the black liquid into the sink. She giggled looks at there fishbowl and pokes at the beta but squeals the water had burned her, enraged she spits at the bowl instantly killing the Beta, and turning the water a gunky,fumy gray. Terrified Willy tries to stop her, but she laughs him off. He grabs her and throw her in the bathtub splashing water onto her. Screeching she sizzles up. Willy runs out panting, yelling“Lena!What did you do!!!”

At dawn a demonic/handsome looking man appeared at their balcony and burst into flames, he was progressively beaming hotter and brighter. Destroying their apartment, and toasting their skin. Once again Willy,“saves the day”with the fire extinguisher scaling the mans skin, and shrinking him down, shriveling his body making him appear old . He shrinks him down to a size where he could be locked into the briefcase again. As he quickly tosses him in his sink faucet bursts and another figure rises from the water. All the pipes explode, and a roaring rumble followed by a storm initiates by another creature traced out in a tornado the complex is destroyed. We see the shivering couple shaking under a mound of rubble grasping tightly to the the briefcase. At this point nothing can save them and they clasp on to each other. END

Project GATHERING

THEME: a crush/ leads to/obsession and potential danger of being trapped in a state of delusion that can lead to death

PREMISE: An innocent crush turns into a deadly obsession when Isaac lets his imagination dictate his actions. Isaac a Jamba Juice employee creates a world of fantasy in his basement where he and Alex are a couple. Isaac creates an Alex shrine including a life size statue (he makes) —he speaks with the Alex statue giving it a personality and influence over his actions. Actions that lead him to kidnap the real Alex holding her hostage in his basement world. The struggle to escape/rescue (Gabe discovers Alex was kidnapped by Isaac and is being held hostage in his house) leads to the deaths of both Isaac and Gabe.

PROGRAM: Isaac moves to the city with his sister after his mother's death. He sells their farm and buys a small house with his and his sister's share and finds a job working at Jamba Juice, where he encounters Alex, and claims love at first sight. His crush turns into obsession when he begins gathering images of her to compose a shrine complete with a life size statue. He begins interacting with the statue giving it a personality and control over his actions. He is convinced to kidnap her. In kidnapping her the characters desires and characters are picked at. (Isaac) overarching desires: Alex, to have a happy cheerful life void of the world, where Alex is completely dependent on Isaac in terms of protection. (Alex) overarching desires: marriage, cohesive family unit, a break from her demanding lifestyle, comforted by Gabe. Stuck in delusion Isaac causes his own demise

TREATMENT: Isaac grew up with his mother and an older sisters (autistic, Lindsey) in a small farm community in Wisconsin. His abusive Father, was killed by his mother in self defense. His Mother went crazy from the guilt and became a recluse in her room. Isaac took care of his mother and Lindsey until she(mother) killed herself (swallowing a blade). Isaac then moves to the city with Lindsey and gets a job at Jamba Juice where he sees Alex. Alex is the all around nice girl who was orphaned along with her brother during her teens. She was the rebellious teen that was forced to grow up and care for her younger brother(Artie). She is very independent, but is forced to live a routine lifestyle, one agenda driven. She has a boyfriend named Gabe that is hesitant to commit. Isaac has a crush on Alex who is a regular at Jamba Juice. Isaac's crush very quickly becomes obsession.

He begins to gather surveillance images of Alex and posts them in his basement. This montage of images turn into a shrine. He becomes very attentive with Alex at work, but their relationship never surpassed a cordial acquaintance. Alex often comes in with her boyfriend Gabe who notices Isaac's crush on Alex and makes a mockery of it. One day Isaac brings Alex's drink to her table and notices her Facebook page. He then begins stalking her on Facebook, to the point where he is convinced he knows Alex very well and is in love with her. As his shrine grows he begins to make a life size statue of her. While constructing it he has various conversations with her statue how they should decorate the room, what kind of furniture they should buy, should we get plants? How many kids are we having?....etc. All revolving around their lives together. The basement becomes a place of fantasy where Isaac creates another life that only involves him and his beloved Alex. Isaac tells Lindsey about his “girlfriend” Alex, whom she will meet soon. One day Alex comes in for her drink upset about her non committal boyfriend. At this moment Isaac decides that he is the only one that can keep her happy.

The next day the Alex statue convinces him that they get married, but in a laps of frustration at the statues stone reaction after the proposal he realizes the statue isn't real. Isaac plans his next move-kidnap Alex. When Alex comes in for her drink, Isaac drugs it, walks her to her car because she looks ill, and has her sit in the passenger seat for a while till she passes out. He goes back in to Jamba Juice and after 15 minutes asks for his break. He goes to her car grabs her keys and quickly leaves her in his basement and returns to work, carrying on with his day. A couple days pass, Artie frantically calls Gabe, by this point Gabe is worried, Alex is no where to be found and isn't answering any calls. He files a police report, and decides to look for her. He confronts Isaac who says nothing useful. Isaac's peculiar behavior leaves Gabe uneasy. He follows him, realizing there is something odd. Lindsey discovers Alex is trapped in the basement confronts Isaac, but he very angered sends her to her room. Gabe sees this through the window and is convinced Alex is in his house. Gabe enters but is discovered by Lindsey, who decides to help him. He gets to the basement, finds Alex, and attempts to rescue her but Isaac appears and a fight breaks out leaving Isaac injured and Gabe dead. Alex convinces Isaac to let her loose so that she can help him; he does, she tries to escape, but they break out in a struggle where Isaac ends up being killed. The police as always arrive late and a distraught Alex is crying over her dead boyfriend's body.

BEHAVIORAL COMPOSITES:

Isaac is a timid, nerdy/awkward, nice guy who spends his time daydreaming. He is traumatized due to his upbringings, and chooses to construct his own reality . Isaac is characterized by his body language and facial expressions. He is the antagonist, but his innocence at times calls for pity. The Alex statue is manipulative, very nice/submissive, and dependent on Isaac for security. Alex is very much a victim of her stolen youth. She was forced to mature quickly and posses many insecurities but brushes them off with a smile and her independent character. Gabe is the heroic figure, an all-American jock guy.
